What an awsome performence! Karen Heimbuch, who recites the whole book of Revealation in an solo drama, brought the message to life. I couldn't even read the book more than 2 or 3 chapter at a time because it is so much to absorb. Yet we sat there to listen to her for almost 2 hours and my mind stayed with her for 90% of the time, spellbounded. The music performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, the lighting and special effect were equally awsome, it accentuates the mood and emotion of the recitation and the message. They flow together like a mighty river between the gorges, delivering all its contents into the open sea. There were moments of suspension, anticipation, fear, horror, hope, agitation, anxiety, relieve, joy and celebration. It was a glimpse into the reality that we too often subconsciously push away.
Pastor Ross had the right quote in his sermon to-day. One of the by-passer turned helper and rescuer at the Dawson College shooting in Montreal said, "Everyone should find out before he/she dies - Who are we running from ? Who are we running to? And 'why'?

A chapter of her life is closed. Yet in the middle of her sorrow, she is not hopeless and downcast. She is relieved and has a lot to praise and thank God for. For the past 25 years, the people who are closest and dearest to her heart passed away one by one. Everyone from her origional family has gone now. The only comfort is, she knows they have gone to a better place. So God has used 'death' to teach her 'life'. She has gained herself the 'greatest friend' and has grown so much wiser and dearer. I feel happy for Mary.

Kathy called. Had a good talk with her. This time she listened. Hope this is the beginning of a better relationship. She wants to sell her house, retire early and travels. It is not a bad idea - depends on how wise she handles the money that comes from the sale.
Ready or not, here they come! Seeing their eager and happy faces, yes. I am so glad they are here. This year, I have no one crying for their mom. What a nice change. The children are easy and pleasant to work with and we get on quite readily.

Two weeks into school. I had to host the BCMA board meeting. They ended up staying for almost 5 hours, got lots done. So glad I could be of service. Really look forward to the conference now. Hope lots of vendors show up. Interestingly, they spent the last hour talking about relationship and spiritual expression. I sat and listen and did not say much, it is good to know what they are thinking and now I can pray for them.

Two planning meeting for Chinese Alpha this week, how exciting! Hard to imagine it is going to happen next week. Lots to do and pray about yet. A bit disappointed about the allocation of rooms at the church. Hey, if we can experience the work of God to change lives, what does it matter where it is.

One week into school, the workcrew of Delta Cooperation is here to work on the new sidewalk.
I feel sorry most for Barbara, lots of her beautifying work with garden and plant for the street has been dug up, her front lawn is a big mess with a big chunk cut away. Instead of complaing about the two ugly corners with gravels and and different height of utility outlets, people complained about the stones she put there. Keeping the street pleasing to her eyes is a great part of her life. It must be heart wrenching for her. I notice she has been smoking quite a bit more. The Bible says, "Do not trust in the work of your hands. They are here to-day but gone tomorrow". How true. Life is fleeting. Too short to leave behind any footprint. Someone next in line can't wait to bring about changes that we made. Nothing really remain except the work that we do for God.

The last three weeks had gone past like a blurr. In between spring cleaning ( cleaning that should be done in spring), painting, (more like touch up and hiding the blemishes) renovation (Ah....... finally I can lay my eyes on the base boards without thinking to myself......yuck!) , endless meeting at Barb for the sidewalk issue, hours of work for the BCMA conference, coping with the news of Alice's passing, Jo came back from Korea - I am glad to see her but I think she misses the food more than she misses us. Well, that is easy to make up, as long as one has money in the pocket.

Last two days before school start, I was working 16 hours a day between the classroom, the yard and the computer. Do I really feel like seeing the children? The feeling was not there yet.
I wish I have another month.
