It had been a year of relieve, reflecting, search, trust, tried, confronting, rewarded, surprised, the beginning of advanture and satisfaction for 2009. it is a year that I crossed the threshold of the inner sanctuary of the Almighty to experince his grace upon grace. As a metaphor, He invited me onto a helicoptor at the end of the year to see the mountains and village covered under the blanket of snow of grace, the imperfections are no longer important. It is as if he is saying to me,
'Now you finally get the big picture'.
The New Year brought fresh relationship. There were six different girls representing six different nationalities in my kitchen making wonton, chatting, laughing and reading the Bible together. For most of them, it was their first time. Everyone had fun and went home with her heart and tummy full.
The Missionsfest at Broadway yesterday offered me more than I could learn. It was such a joy to be united in spirits sharing visions and burdens in the prayer room with four strangers - Scott, Dawn, Lisa and Art.
The encouragement and challenge of Jackie Pullinger from addiction ministry from Hong Kong;
the new hope of the recovering Rawanda (where my sponsor child lives) from its genocide ; the sharing of the Punjabi pastor of how to reach out to the E. Indians, the precious insight shared by Joy Loemen and David Foster about loving the Muslim are food for my soul.
I unexpectedly encountered the TV Muslim ministry personnels - Faisal & Sabina Malick on the street when Tim Gallihan happened to walk pass me and grapped me. I was able to get him to shake hand with Sabina before I stuffed a paper about the MEFC into her hand. I think God meant for these people to cross path with each other and lo, he picked me - a failour, to stand in the middle. I am excited to see what this will bring about. God makes the best net work.
The best thing of all was Regina who phoned me a couple of days ago, she told me that she went to a couple of Christmas events at her friends' church and feels her life ebbing away aimlessly. I invited her to the Missionsfest and she gladly replied 'yes'. She has now been covered by prayer, people who prayed for her might have forgotten her already, but God will never.
John was having a ball at the information table, talking to a lot of people. All his dread dissipated.
After we came out from the conference, we were going to eat at SC but discovered it had a long line up, so we went to Happy Valley for Chinese food instead. It was scrumpteous and at a reasonable price. (I was still thinking of the food this morning.) What made it nice was, it does not happen very often, so it was much appreciated.
When we can see all things happened by divine arrangement. It makes a 'perfect day'and a 'perfect life'.
