Watched a DVD last night, called 'Conversation with God'. I expect some New Age stuff. However, the title still entreats me, so I picked it. It was about this real guy Neale Donald Walsch's life journey and it was pretty ordinary stuff, however, when he came to the end of his own rope after trying so hard and wanted to give up, God's voice boomed out from no where and starts talking to him. It was most gripping and heart warming. The same kind of stuff Brad Jersek is talking about in Listening Prayer. Oh, one does not need to be religious to be close to God, because he is all around us, he is in us. He never leaves us until the day we die. If only we listen.
I won't mind reading his book one of these days.

Went with Jo to the VanDuzen Garden show yesterday. The weather was cool, even had showers. We attended the workshop of container plants. Then I had to dash out for food. Jo attended the water garden workshop while I chowed down a chicken burger. Then we ran around different florel displays and saw a lot of gorgeous ones. Gigantic hanging baskets, never to be seen flower arrangements, a mum platapus, brass water fontain, suckulent container garden, mini water garden. We were pretty controlled as far as buying went until we saw the mini water garden in containers. We love them but we both thought we could do it at a lower price than the exhibitor. Lo, the last stall we came upon was one which sold water plants, then we start to go crazy matching different plants to make our own water garden. as we carried our two trays of plants out the garden, we meet people who was bragging about the good last minute deals they got. Humf, that what we decide we should do next year.

There is something interesting in the demeanor of gardeners, they are pretty lay back as far as what others want to do and not the pushy or dominant kind. May be they understand more about human nature through observing plants which has its own unique charateristics and needs to be catered to or it simply won't perform. However, it needs shocks too from time to time for best performance as Jo was sharing with me. While I was talking to the rododendrom guy the other day, one could almost says plants thinks and they have feeling too.

Which leads to another interesting thought. If each individual live like a gardener who weed out the unattractive things in our lives and make room for the beautiful things, wouldn't it be wonderful? On the other hand, sometimes the unattractive things are there to eccentricate the beautiful ones. However, I still feel sorry for those who do not garden.
