It so happened the next day CBC had an interview with a doctor who went to Rawanda during the genocide as 'doctor across the border'. Four years ago, he went back to Rawanda for a visit to the places he worked and lived, lives that he had touched. It is still very tough for the people. Many times, they have to empty or dig out the dead bodies from the clay and mud to rebuild.

It makes me think of the child I sponsor in Rwanda through Compassion. No wonder I don't feel as close to her as Jean Louie from Haiti. She must have seen or heard and seen enough autrocity that makes her terrified of people in general.

I love the movie of 'Simon Birch'. A 12 years old midget. Despite the fact that he was looked down by so many people around him and shunned by others because he indirectly caused the death of his best friends mother. He has a strong inquest - 'Does God has a plan for him?'
Through childhood humour and tragedies, the story played out the best of human nature and faith in God wrapped in this three feet body.

I was also deeply touched by the movie 'Hotel Rawanda' which was a true story during the Rwanda's genocide about 10 years ago. It was about this one man who was a manager of an upscale hotel owned by some Belgians. He was so concerned for the life of his own family during the country's turmoil that he wanted to save his last favour from high ranking officials at the last moment. Yet circumstances forced him to look at the hard fact that so many people were facing death and he finally put his own life on line to save others. I am glad him and his family were spared at the end, though it does not always happen that way.
