I had wanted a pink star magnolia this year to replace my pink saucer magnolia at the front this spring. My feeling was so strong about it until I saw the price at the nursery. Then I had a second thought, that it won't look nice to have two so close on the same street. Babara's is big and gorgeous. So I cancelled the idea, plus there was not even one at Cloverdale fleamarket. For some reason, they are well sought after, only the white stars are left.

I went shopping at Super Store, just nosed around their garden centre. I didn't expect much.
Lo and behold, their were a bunch of little magnolia's of various kinds. But they all had the same lables. None of them say it is a pink star. and if there is no flower, it is impossible to tell the difference by the leaves. Then I spoted a taller one with the pink star flower, I was more than happy when I saw the price. It was half of what I have seen before. Well, it is pretty hard to resist this one. Thank you Lord! Now it is in my back garden. No competition.

Went to Cloverdale markets again. Found all kinds of neat plants to improve my lot. Worked like a horse for two days switching plant locations, until every muscle of my body screams. Whether the plants will agree or not, I shall see.

Finally I got my hands on the plants. It is a good feeling to rearranging and transplant some plants since I get to know how they behave. I can't say it is frustrating because it is an education for me and it makes life more interesting to stir my thoughts. Anyway, my Haloborous are in, hope they will perform for me in a couple of years. Still missing my pink star magnolia. Potters carries it for $69. No way will I pay that kind of price. Cloverdale flea market is the way to go. Still thinking if I should give up my purple rose of Sharon to 64 Ave. since it is not doing too hot where it is.

Been enjoying Brad Jersak's tape and book about listening prayer. I searched my heart and couldn't answer the question 'when was the last time Jesus laughs over me?' I guess he was determined to help me out with this. Two incidents happened in the last two Saturdays.

I was doing my shopping spree at Sahmiamoo Mall. My goal was to be in and out in half-an-hour. I got my shopping done, the bag was full. As I headed toward the car, I couldn't find my keys. The keys were not in the ignition. So I went back to N.R. thinking I might have dropped the key while I tried out pants. It wasn't there. I went back to Zellas, thinking I might have left it at the cashier's counter. It was not. I search all 8 pockets on me again. No keys. I knew I am usually very consciencious about where to put my keys after I get out the car. I was thinking of giving John a call to come fetch me. So my hand went through the pockets to look for a quarter. Some how it landed on the rear pocket of my pants and there were my keys.
I thought I heard someone laughing 'ha, ha, ha.........................' Well that was not a place that I normally put my keys. Wait until I get older, you will have more laugh coming.

I couldn't wait till I got out of bed on good Friday. Today is the day I am going to work in my garden. But first, I have to get some lattice to prop up my clamataseseses. John thought H.D. may not be opened because it is public holiday. No amount of cold water is going to stop me.
Not even that little bit of guilt he evoked, that may be I should stay home and remain solemn to remember the Lord's death. We hopped into the van. John started the engine. He paused and said he heard something funny from the car. I don't know if I want to hear it, I commented they all sound alike to me. We went to Costco first, by the time we left, they car was making such a racket that I thought the engine might fall off. I suggested we go home. But John said since the car was moving, he was ready to take a risk because H.D. was on the way home. So we did. We picked up two sheets of lattice, tied them on the roof and prayed that God will allow us to get home. People in the parking lot was turning around to look at our van. I even waved at them
(to apologize). So, on we went until we got to Nicholson. John suddenly yelled,'we lose a sheet of lattice'. I looked back, it was on the way to the ground like a magic carpet. By the time we stopped, both of them had come down. I looked apologetically at the car following us. Imagine if it happened on Scott Rd. ! Then I heard this laugh agian...................Is it really you, Lord Jesus? By the time we stuffed the two sheet into the van and started again, the van was behaving perfectly normal as if nothing had ever happened. 'O.K. you convinced me'!

The next day, we found out that it was not practical to hang up the lattice, so off again we went with them to H.D.
